Meet The Voices

Sandeep Venigandla, relishes in writing and playing basketball, and in fact, is currently a player on the school team. He is a huge fan of the Golden State Warriors team and his favorite subject is math. It’s also worth mentioning that he is a great foodie and enjoys feasting on a variety of continental dishes. Sandeep’s role in The Marian is to manage the website and, essentially, make it look impeccable. Apart from constructing the website, he contributes articles to the newspaper. He finds writing to be a calming activity that gives his dynamic personality a perfect counterbalance.

Saurav Mandal is a vociferous reader and writer, he passionately supports his (sometimes controversial) views on contentious topics. However, he isn't your traditional bookworm. He likes to play sports, watch Netflix, and hang out with his friends. You can usually catch him in a classroom or in the hallways, chatting animatedly with his peers. Saurav is a reporter and writer and contributes to The Marian with his well-thought articles.

Ashika Venigandla has been fond of writing since a young age and her passion for it intensified over the years. She enjoys creative writing and revels in coming up with her own short stories in her free time. Publishing her writing has always been one of her aspirations, and finally,  opportunity to create The Marian - a platform that gives herself and others from our school the opportunity to voice their opinions and display their work. Apart from writing, she has a range of other interests, which include playing sports, video games, art, and much more. At The Marian, her job is to oversee the whole project and she also writes articles for the issues. Overall, she really hopes that this platform accomplishes what it is truly meant for and serves as a learning opportunity for the readers.

Spurthi is a grade 10 student at Sancta Maria and since her day one, she caught on to the English lessons with keen interest and began writing once every now and then under the guidance of her English teachers. Apart from the art of writing, she learns music and dance and considers academics vital. She does like to spend her free time with her friends or playing sports. Lastly, whatver she becomes in life her main goal is to stay happy.

Niharika Gupta has always been fond of stories. Not being a reader as a kid, she chose writing stories as a way of expressing herself. She has always enjoyed experimenting with language and words and it has been her lifelong dream to write a full-fledged novel. The Marian provided her a perfect place to hone her skills as a writer and reach out to a large audience. Niharika also plays the guitar and frequently draws and paints. She is also a huge movie buff and enjoys basketball and swimming. As a reporter and writer for The Marian, she wishes to share with her readers how she sees the world and most importantly, enjoy the process!!

Shaivi Nandi is your typical aspiring writer- she loves books, stationary, and lasting friendships. She's also an avid tea drinker and 'nerd', but moving away from the stereotype and slowly falling in love with the worlds of anime, fashion, culinary science, and debate. She works as a poet and author on online platforms and as a writer and reporter for The Marian- both of these have given her huge opportunities to expand her audience and improve her skill set.

Samhitha Thatikonda had found herself falling in love with reading and words from the moment she read her first book. Shortly after, she was introduced to the world of writing, and ever since, reading and writing have become two vital aspects of her life. She now spends a majority of her free time with a novel in her hands or writing prose and articles. Apart from her literary interests, she is also very fond of the dance form Kuchipudi and classical singing. As a writer for The Marian, she aspires to keep improving her writing skills and make a meaningful impact with her words.
